About the ADMDC
Here at the Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders Center, our clinical mission is to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art care for patients and families affected by Alzheimer disease (AD) and other cognitive disorders. Our multidisciplinary approach includes a team of neurologists, neuropsychologists, neuro-imagers, social workers and nurses dedicated to the needs of our patients and their caregivers.
At your initial appointment, you can expect our team to obtain a complete medical history, review your medical records, and to conduct a small battery of cognitive tests to determine what labs, imaging and other testing are required to get your diagnosis. Most patients will have a brain MRI, lab work and neuropsychological testing ordered at this visit.
After completing all ordered tests, your case will be discussed in a multidisciplinary consensus conference where our team goes through all the information to conclude on a diagnosis and course of treatment.
The second appointment will entail a review of all tests, diagnosis, and course of treatment. Depending on the results, follow-up is tailored accordingly. You will also meet with our social worker to make your own personal care plan and to see what resources are available to you.
